5L2MS Liberia DXpedition

After fourteen years of civil war, lasting from 1989 to 2003, the country of Liberia has been devastated and its infrastructure was ruined. The Mercy Ships organization (see website) offers free specialized surgeries, developmental assistance, and educational programs for the poor in Liberia. In cooperation with Mercy Ships the DAGOE Foundation deploys this Radio DX-pedition. The DX-pedition has adopted a charity project that will be supported by the donations. With your generous help they are able to give the people of Liberia hope for the future.
Liberia 2007The DXpedition will take place from october 3 until october 24th.
Team members are Arie Kleingeld/PA3A, Ad van Ginneken/PA8AD, Arie Noordzij/PA3AN and Henk van Oosterhout/PA3AWW.
They will be operating two HF Stations working in CW, SSB and RTTY.

More information can be found at the special website.

PI4VAD Fieldday Experience

Fieldday 2007 PI4VAD
We didn't organise a complete fieldday participation, just a few members of the club wanted to have some fun in the field for a few hours on sunday.

We parked on the side of a small road with not much trafic and just grass and cows around us.

The first two rigs had been setup in 30 minutes with a G5RV and a small HF Vertical on one of the cars.

The first QSO's are made from the back of the car on 40m and from a small camping table on 20m.

After two hours some of the cars had to be parked a bit further on the road because the cows needed to go home.

And our field-shack was surrounded by cows.

After the cows had gone it was time to make some more QSO's.

For the last hour of our fieldday three rigs where up and running.

After all it was a very nice afternoon in the field. We'll be back next year!
