Even the European Radiocommunications Office Document Database website is not complete and on some parts it will give you the wrong information!

That's why I have started to collect all the information from the different countries. It will take much more time to get all the information from the different countries but I decided to publish what I have collected up untill now.
Every time I have the information about a country complete, I will publish it straight away.

So, visit my website again in the future if the information you're looking for is not here at this moment.
All the information about the CEPT Full Licence will follow as well.

You can find everything via my website www.pd3em.com .

New website

Since I passed the exam for my ham license I was on air more often than I was doing SWL.
That's why I created a brand new website to give you more information about my activities and ham radio.
The website contruction is still in progress: it's partly a blog, partly informational and I will try to post some ham related news items regulairy.

Please take a look at my new website at www.pd3em.com

Any comments and tips are welcome.

73, Elmar PD3EM

Everything unplugged

No radio activities this evening... The last few weeks we put some time in fixing the antennas: a new dipole for 40m, 80m and 160m, the beam for 10m, 15m and 20m was checked and the vertical for 10m - 40m has been taken off the roof a couple of times. On saturday morning we found out that the mounting point for one end of the dipole was gone and 40% of the dipole was lying flat on the roof due to that. So... very little time to fix but we did it. The vertical was still giving us some hard time getting it tuned.
Despite the antenna problems we still had a lot of fun and made 764 QSOs with 129 multipliers. That make a total of 98.169 points. Last year we had 38.048 points. For the few that can't count... thats 60.121 points more!
On the picture you can see me working on 160m at 2:15 local time (1:15 UTC). On the left of me Rob PA3BXR is taking care of the logging.

8P6GU QSL arrived

Last week I received the direct QSL card from Haschel 8P6GU. It's the main contest that our club PI4VAD is active. So the last couple of weeks we're trying to get ready for this 24 hour contest.
All the antennas are checked and tested. We have put up a new 2x20 meter dipole for 80m and 160m band operation. If the weather will help us this upcoming weekend we hope to put up a second beam for 10m, 15m and 20m band.
This is the first year that 160m band is allowed in the PACC Contest.

The last few days I've been testing and setting up the hardware and software for logging and internet access. We don't have any DSL or Cable internet access at our club station so we're gonna use some UMTS/HSDPA wireless internet access.
For logging we use N1MM Logger. The N1MM Logger is a freeware program designed to do contest logging and some general logging. It is not a general logging program with award tracking etc. but is mainly a contest logging program. So that's why it workes great for us!

Live stream

At the moment I'm testing a live audio and video stream from my shack.
It will not be online all the time but I'll try to put it up and running when I'm in my shack and the radio is switched on.
Due to the size of the video stream its hard to read the frequency but you can check that on the left menu.

Migrants saved by Italian Ham

A Ukrainian family of six, lightly clothed and in some cases barefoot, has been rescued after illegally trying to cross the Alps into Switzerland.
The family of asylum seekers, which included four children, had got lost near Monte Lema in the Italian-speaking southern canton of Ticino. I was surprised to find an Award in it.
It's the Short Listening Period Award 2007.
I joined the SLP Contest 3 times this year.

The Contest was held 8 times during major contests. I ended at the 10th place and I think thats not bad for my first contesting.

In fact I participated 2.5 times, because during the latest SLP Contest (simultaneously with CQ DX WW SSB) the conditions on 10 and 15 meter were rather good and I preferred to log some stations for QSLing rather than the short and fast contest logging.
Next year I hope to spent some more time on the contests.

Antarctic Activity Week 2008

The 5th Antarctic Activity Week will be from 18 through 24 February 2008.
About 26 stations have allready credited to participate next february.
